How will i get my loan payments for Uni? (probably only relevent for uk people)?

Im due to start in september, is it monthly or by term? also, do I apply for bursaries and grants when I start or before I start?

Answers:
It comes every term and not until you have registered in at the uni.
befor
When you register you will get your first terms payment.

Apply for bursaries before after or whenever you can. There are usually some avaialble mid term once your moeny has run out.
you can chose either each term or all of it at the beginning of the year. I reccommend termly.

You should have already filled in your loan forms etc. It was due in at the end of July.

Bursaries are only applicable to certain courses eg. NHS courses, or Social work courses.

Grants are applied for when you apply for you loan.

Income assessed forms are available for low income people - you'll want this one probably.

Non-income assessed loans just give you a standard amount.
ok, my sister is going through this now, so hopefully i can help! First of all, you have to actually be enrolled at the uni- bit of a no-brainer really! then come the forms. there are income related, non-income related, and then about 3 other different types, so you need to find out which one is for you! dont forget to apply for all that you can from your borough council too (my sister gets a grant of £50 per term). so, after you have filled in your forms, you need to hand them in to (i believe) the uni, and it will be processed from there. my sister receives £1200 every term, usually late though as she normally does it last minute! i would advise doing it all asap just to get it over and done with, and then you dont need to worry about it! good luck!
You will get your payments termly but only when you have actually enrolled. However, it's really best to start filling in your paperwork now as they can be a bit of a headache to fill in. Like the previous answerers wrote, you only get bursaries if you are on specific courses, but it's always worthwhile writing to the Research Council for your subject. You can get the address of the relevant one from your admin office. You probably won't get anything, but it could be worth a try. Enjoy your studies!
I think you get it at the start of each term
Try applying for bursaries now - getting quite close to uni time! They can only tell you to try again another time ...
Good luck, especially if your results are out next thursday like mine!
Maybe I'll see you in September!
you get the form from your LEA before you start say April submit it quickly so by September you have got the amount you are getting and the dates you will be paid. payment is after you have registered for the start of a semester and is paid in three instalments.
