Yes. That is the way they make money.
They are a broker they are not lenders... The brokerage fee that they tack on is how they get paid for the work that they have done. If you do not want a broker fee then you will need to go directly thru a lender. The question that you always need to ask is "Yes or No, Are you a broker?"
In short, absolutly not. Walk into any bank.
