Does a savings secured loan help build credit?
Answers:
If you have savings and would like to build your credit than open a secured visa card at one of the major banks like Bank of America or Wells Fargo. They both have good programs and low fees.
Use the card every month for a few purchases but make sure and keep the balance under 35% of your credit line. Make your payments before they are due and within 12 months you most likely go to an unsecured status(get back your savings) You will have a 1 year track record of responsibly handling revolving credit which will increase your credit score.
How much will depend on the other things in your credit files both positive and negative.
The only one who knows that it is a savings secured loan is you and the bank. The credit report that people view does not have a special code to reflect that information. Any bill that is reported, that you pay on time, is good for your credit. Remember you usually must pay it for 6 months or more before it is reported.
Hope that helps, Have a Great Day
yes, if you make your payment on time and the bank/credit union post to a credit report.
Bank loans look much better on your credit score then revolving loans (credit cards). Yes, it will help you build credit.
yes it does ,it gives you a score ,but it does not make getting credit guaranteed.what happens after you pay it off it will show as good ,and give you a high score
