Where I can go to apply for a personal loan with a Bankruptcy Chapter 7 discharged, score 606 ?

My score is 606, my re-established credit is perfect. I have filed Bankruptcy Chapter 7 in 2003, it has been discharged since then. I have go to American General Financial but because I'm in Chapter 7 they can give me a secured loan and I need a unsecured loan. I have tried credit unions and they said I have too much obligations in my credit and it is becuase I just bought a house and the loan is under my name only (husband is in title), and the payment is $2200, plus I have a furniture acct and my car that I make payments. Need help if someone knows where I can go, probably a website. I have tried prosper.com where I have a listing but it is not only me, they are more that 200 listings. Please HELP!!

You might want to check out the link that I've provided. Go to the bankruptcy forum and pinned at the top of the forum is a very long thread of people who talk about what companies they have had success getting loans and credit cards after a BK, and companies that they haven't had successes with.

With your prosper loan, is your group leader not vetting you? If he/she isn't, you might think of pulling your listing (unless you already have a bunch of bids) and finding another group.

If you go to the site I've listed, also check out the credit forum. There is a subforum in there that many people talk about how they write up their prosper listing etc. You may find it informative.

All of the info on the site is totally free to read and use.
Unsecured personal loans are VERY hard to get. Even without a BK you would still have trouble. You need about a 750 score to even have a shot. I would try exploring other alternatives. Maybe you need to get rid of that 350 thousand dollar house and downsize. Did the BK teach you anything?
Eri,

Call this number 877-480-5800 X119 and speak with Mike. See if he can help out. Tell him Omar gave you the number. Good luck and Success!
I too filed a Chp 7 bankruptcy and has been discharged. I filed after you (2005). I recently needed a loan and applied at www.cashcall.com within an hour or so, I was approved for a loan of $5,000 it was wired directly into my checking account the next day. Although there interest rates are "really" high I don't plan on keeping this loan for 10 years, more like a year or 2. I tried with American General before applying with Cash Call, and they told me that I had to have 2 years of established credit after my bankruptcy, I only have a year. Oh well...Good luck!
I found some good info here.
