Talk to your partner and sort it out together.
In the meanwhile, cut up the Credit cards and STOP SPENDING MONEY.
You need to tell your spouse about it. They will find out eventually anyways and be even more mad at you for hiding it so long and going to the extent of getting a loan out for it.
Check with your bank for a personal loan. If you have good credit they should be able to get you a check within a few hours.

Go and contact the bank
If you are in debt to the tune of £12k then how do you think a loan is going to help you. A loan will only make things worse and you have then to pay that back. Far better to tell your partner for the simple reason that he is a PARTNER not just anybody. You can then decide together the best action to take. You should both then go to the Citizens Advice Bureau for help, they are a wonderful organisation and there is no charge for their advice. Best of luck.
